Description
Gigi is a stunning two-year-old girl who spent the first part of her life surviving on the streets of South London where she was part of a 40-strong colony. Having braved all weather and conditions, she is now safe, warm and ready to find the loving forever home she truly deserves.
Her coat is genuinely unique - a rich black that fades into warm chocolate tones along her back, hind legs, and tail, with a beautiful subtle redness catching the light.
Gigi is naturally cautious at first, but once she knows she's safe, her affectionate side shines through. She absolutely adores chin rubs and soft pets, but is still wary as she gets accustomed to handling, She has never scratched out, bit or been aggressive in any way but she has a lot of trust still to build.
After a life outdoors, Gigi’s current favourite things are plush beds, cosy spots, and absolute warmth. She is very food-driven! Lick-eLix, Churo's, and tasty meals are the fastest way to win her heart. She even gets some nice boiled chicken at weekends as a tasty treat!
Gigi prefers to keep all four paws on the ground and isn't comfortable being picked up or held just yet. She tolerates it to a point, but will not stay for long. Though with time and trust, this may change.
Gigi is looking for a patient, low-maintenance home with adults or families with older children (12+). Fast movements and loud noises still startle her, so a peaceful environment where she can settle at her own pace is essential.
She gets along brilliantly with other cats, having grown up in a colony of ~40, making her an easy addition to a household with an existing cat (with proper introductions). She could also thrive as an only pet if her adopters work mostly from home and can offer her plenty of 1-on-1 attention.
As with all our rescues, Gigi is strictly an indoor cat for her safety, though a secure catio or fully cat-proofed garden would be a wonderful bonus!
