🐾 Loving Male Miniature Cockapoo Looking for His Forever Home 🐾
This is an incredibly difficult post for me to write, but I am looking for the right forever home for my almost 5-year-old male Miniature Cockapoo, who will be 5 in October.
He is a blue roan Cockapoo, black and white in colour, and is currently not neutered.
I have had him since he was old enough to leave his mum, so this decision has not been made lightly at all. He is a very loving, affectionate and cuddly boy who absolutely loves being around his people. He is energetic, playful and particularly enjoys long walks and adventures. He has been on the fells and mountains in the Lake District and would absolutely thrive with someone who enjoys getting outdoors.
He is crate trained and has his own wooden crate. He can be left home alone without any issues and does not suffer from separation anxiety.
He knows several commands, including:
🐾 Sit
🐾 Wait
🐾 Paw
🐾 Recall
His recall is generally good, although when he is particularly distracted or excited outside, he can sometimes take a little longer to listen.
🏡 The right home is extremely important
Unfortunately, due to difficulties between him and my severely autistic child, I feel that the kindest and fairest thing for him is to find him a new home.
This is not because he is a bad dog. However, he is much better suited to a home where children are either not present or are older and understand how to interact safely and respectfully with a dog.
He needs a home where he won’t have children jumping around him, pulling his fur, climbing around him or unexpectedly invading his space. I don’t feel it is fair for him to have to be kept away from communal family areas or separated from everyone because of the circumstances at home.
I want him to be somewhere where he can be part of the family, have plenty of attention, enjoy his walks and have the freedom to relax without being constantly managed.
❤️ He is a very loving, affectionate dog who deserves a home where he can truly be himself.
I am looking for someone who genuinely understands dogs and is willing to give him the time, patience, love and exercise he deserves.
This is an extremely hard decision for me. I have had him for almost five years and he has been a huge part of our family. I will not be letting him go to just anyone — finding the right home is much more important to me than simply finding him a new home quickly.
A loving, experienced home with older children or no children would be preferred, ideally with someone who enjoys long walks and can give him plenty of companionship.
Please only get in touch if you are serious about offering him a permanent, loving home. I am happy to answer any questions and would want to have a proper conversation with anyone interested to make sure it is the right fit for him.
🐶❤️ This isn’t goodbye because I don’t love him — it’s because I love him enough to know when he deserves a different environment.
