An exceptional and long awaited pairing from the magnificent Fenwynhart Midnight Chase (Monty) and Lewtrenchard Black Betty (Olive), both health tested and KC registered, both stunning looking dogs with wonderful temperaments.
Olive has given birth to a small litter of five strong puppies, born on 1st May. They will be ready to leave for their forever homes on the 27th/28th June. Her previous litter (sired by Monty’s father) produced large athletic dogs - photos can be provided.

Health and Lineage:
• Monty and Olive are health tested (hip and elbow scored and have annual eye tests) with hip and elbow scores either at or below the breed average or deemed ‘low risk’ by The Kennel Club’s Estimated Breeding Values (EBVs)
• Monty and Olive have an excellent breeding coefficient of 2.4% (the breed average is 6.5%)
• Their five generation enhanced pedigree details can be viewed
• Monty’s lineage includes Drakeshead and Field Trail Champions making his puppies highly suited to working as gundogs
• Olive’s lineage includes Show Champions and many dogs who have gone on to become assistance dogs through the charity Veterans with Dogs
• All puppies will be checked by a veterinary surgeon prior to collection and the outcome of this will be passed to you together with the details of the veterinary surgeon who carried out the health check
Small-scale, home-based, values-orientated:
• Monty and Olive are loved and cared for as family members in a home environment and not solely used for stud or breeding purposes
• This is Olive’s second litter, the first being born in October 2024; it is the first litter Monty has sired
• 10% of profits made from the sale of puppies is donated to The Labrador Rescue Trust
• Blackdown Labradors sponsors “Max” through the Dogs Trust
Exceptional Service:
• Between reserving and collecting your puppy, you will be offered almost daily updates (photos and videos) of their progress
• The majority of puppies will be toilet trained by the time they join your home at 8 weeks of age
• Your puppy will weaned on the best quality kibble available (according to the All About Dog Food (AADF) comparison site)
• You have the option of joining an online community of Blackdown Labrador owners which includes an optional annual reunion
Additional information:
• All puppies will be microchipped prior to collection, and you will be provided with the details of this on collection
• Your puppy will be wormed every two weeks with Drontal
• Your puppy will be registered with The Kennel Club
• On collecting your puppy, you will be provided with The Kennel Club’s 5-week free insurance, the contract of sale and you will be given a puppy pack
• Your puppy will not come vaccinated. This is because the injections puppies require depend on the area where they will live and the risks associated with that area (e.g. Lepto 2 or Lepto 4). Different brands of vaccinations are also used by different vet practices. It is important that puppies receive the same brand of vaccinations. It is therefore advised that you arrange for your puppy to have its first vaccinations as soon as possible after you take it home.
