Full Advert Details

We have a lovely one year old UK born and bred Sulcata tortoise available to go to a good home, with full vivarium set up as pictured. Two tortoises in the picture have been sold so we only have 1 left with full set up.

We can't be sure of sex, but believe this is possibly a male.

He measures 9 cm end to end and weighs 95g.

Please research the breed as these tortoises grow to be very large and live a long time. They also require UV light and heat.

Vivarium in perfect condition apart from thermostat stays on one temperature which works okay for us but if you want to be able to change temp, you'll need a new thermostat which you can buy for about £30.

Alongside the vivarium and contents shown, we will include the nearly full coco soil 50 litre bag, remainder of bag of moss, hay, nutrobal, tortoise food and a Sulcata tortoise book.

Please note, this tortoise is a species that does not require a certificate or microchip under Annex B of the regulations.

Payment is either via cash on collection or by direct bank transfer in advance of collection.

Safety Notice from Pets4Homes - NEVER send money for a deposit or pay for a pet online, unless using our Safe Deposit Service. Read more about it here. ALWAYS visit the advertisers home to view the pet and confirm they are genuine. Before contacting the seller, you MUST read our Pet Buying/Adoption Checklist below.

Reptile Buying Checklist

Before contacting or visiting the advertiser for this Tortoise. Please make sure you have printed and read this checklist fully. Do NOT buy a pet from the advertiser unless you are happy that they follow all the advice on the list.

  • Do your research first
Getting a new reptile is a massive commitment, so make sure you have researched the breed fully and have the time and commitment necessary to care for the reptile. You can read our detailed Information guide about reptiles for potential new reptile owners.
  • Confirm that the advertiser is genuine
You should verify this by arranging to visit the pet at the advertisers home, if they make excuses or try to ask for money or a deposit without seeing the pet, or if the advertiser attempts to deliver the pet or meet you at any other location than their own home, then please do not agree to this. NEVER send money online for any pet. Please read our article on avoiding potential scams.
If you are unsure that the advertiser is genuine, please report them to us.
  • Is the reptile old enough to leave its mother?
The majority of Reptiles, including Snakes, Lizards, Turtles and Tortoises must be at least 8 weeks old before they can leave their mothers.
  • Confirm advertiser has CITES Article 10 Certificate
Certain reptiles such as some tortoises (Hermann's, Spur-Thighed and Marginated) and some species of snakes (Boa Constrictor and the Reticulated, Royal and Indian Pythons) are covered by CITES regulations. Look for confirmation that the seller is in possession of the relevant CITES Article 10 certificate, and if you do ultimately buy the animal, ensure that a copy of the certificate is provided to you. Please read our article on CITES and the advertising of endangered pets.
If you think the advertiser does not have the relevant paperwork, please report them to us.
  • Check the Health of the reptile
It can be difficult for the average person to check if a pet is healthy or not, so if you decide to adopt or buy the pet, make sure that the seller agrees that you can return them within 48 hours for a full refund after taking the pet to a Vet of your choice for a health check. The seller should be willing to let you do this. If the pet has already been health checked by their own vet, make sure you get evidence for this in the form of vet records and phone their vet to confirm this.
