Hello, this is Marley our 2 year old working cocker spaniel. He is such a beautiful, loving, kind dog. He also has such a cheeky funny character 😂🙈. We have had him for nearly a year now and he has had so many adventures going to places. He is such a lovely family dog and is great with our 4 year old boy. The reason we are looking for a new owner for our Marley is because we are going to be having a new baby born in april. As dogs do Marley gets very exited and has a lot of zoomies and we are worried if he were to jump onto the baby etc because when he jumps on you it does hurt. It’s also because of our work commitments and us feeling we are not giving him the time we used to give him and he deserves to have that time. He usually needs about 2 walks a day or 1 big walk a day so he can wear his energy out. With him been a working dog I have done gun dog training with him and he does very well. He knows basic skills such a sit, stay, paw, lie down (his command words). He also knows jump, spin and middle. He still struggles with doing heal when walking and does have a pulling problem so he has to be reminded a lot on his walks. With our dog walker Marley was really good with other dogs and still is. There has been times where other dogs haven’t been so kind to Marley but Marley doesn’t retaliate he just kind of skittles away. Marley has been off leed and he does good with his focus however if he sees another dog he gets distracted and doesn’t listen too his recall so does need further training with that. There has been times when he does and I think he does understand and he does know that he needs to come back but he does get distracted so he hasn’t been off lead for a while. I use a whistle and treats on his walks and they are good too keep his concentration on me. He goes in his bed at night time and stays in there. He was crate trained from when he was a puppy so he knows how to behave in one. Marley is microchipped but hasn’t been spayed.
