We are pleased to announce the arrival of a stunning litter of Royal Kennel Club registered whippet puppies - five brindles and two blacks all with white trim - who will be ready to join their new families from 13 October. You can follow their progress from birth until they leave us, which is vital for potential new puppy owners who can see how our puppies are raised and how our dogs live their lives. OUR PUPPIES are raised in our home and from the age of around five weeks become integrated into our pack where they learn dog body language, how to share and good manners. We use a proven programme of socialisation to ensure our puppies mature into happy and confident adults and they will get to know our cat and the donkeys. By the time our puppies join their new families they are recall trained, taught bite inhibition, have a good understanding of house training and understand simple commands. They are handled daily from birth and enjoy lots of cuddles on sofas. Our puppies leave us from the age of nine weeks once they are fully vaccinated and ready to meet the world. We are using a relatively new vaccine, Versican Plus, which means our puppies are fully covered from the day they leave us with no period of isolation and no gap in their socialisation education. New owners do not have to go to their vet for further puppy inoculations but will have to have their puppy booster at the age of 14 months. The dam of the litter is Summertime, a lovely show line black and white whippet who has a loving and gentle temperament. The sire is a black brindle dog called Pagan that we bred but who now lives in Scotland where he is enjoying a successful show career, having qualified on numerous occasions for Crufts. Both parents are DNA tested clear for degenerative myelopathy, glycogen storage disease VII, hyperuricosuria and muscular hypertrophy. With whippets tending to get bigger and bigger, we strive to breed whippets of the correct smaller size to adhere to the Royal Kennel Club breed standard. The sire of the litter is 51cm and the dam is 47cm and both have the correct conformation, temperament and action. We always aim to breed for good looks, lovely characters and robust good health. Our puppies undergo a thorough vet health check at six and nine weeks. OUR NEW OWNERS WILL GET their puppy's unique Royal Kennel Club pedigree papers, microchip in their name, five weeks RKC insurance, worming programme and a 28 day health and temperament money back guarantee. They will also get a two week supply of premium wet and dry puppy food together with money off vouchers for future purchases. Puppies leave us with a collar and lead, scent blanket, toys, a bottle of our water to aid the transition and a clicker. We know just how daunting it is getting a new puppy so we send our breed and training notes out to our new owners before they collect their pup so that they feel confident and ready to go! ABOUT ME - I am a professional and ethical breeder of sighthounds and since 1972 have bred whippets, deerhounds and lurchers. I now just specialise in my whippets and small strain of lurcher rather than having multiple breeds. I have shown whippets and deerhounds at championship level with a couple of my hounds becoming lifetime qualified for Crufts. I was a pet dog trainer (retired!!), have run a doggy daycare business and have written various articles for specialist canine magazines. As a licenced breeder, I have to adhere to strict health and welfare conditions and all of my dogs undergo a full health check annually.
