Description
I have 3 gorgeous bunnies for sale – Drew, Scooby and Hattie (names are on the photos).
This is going to be a very honest advert, and I know that might put some people off, but I only want the very best homes for them.
It is non-negotiable that Hattie and Scooby go together, as they are a bonded pair. Drew will need to stay on his own unless you have the experience, time and patience to work on his confidence around other rabbits.
Their story…
I’ve known these rabbits since they were around 10 weeks old. We originally had them at the nursery I worked at and were told they were all girls (there were originally 4, but sadly one passed away).
After a few months, it became clear they weren’t getting the love and attention they deserved, so I brought them home. Within the first week, I noticed Drew was being bullied and was really unhappy, so I separated him – and he’s been much happier ever since. I have tried bonding him with other rabbits since, but his fear is still too strong.
The other rabbits remained happy together… one day I went to clean them out and saw something moving – I genuinely thought it was mice! 🙈 It turned out to be 4 baby rabbits. That’s when we realised at least one of them wasn’t female 🤦🏽♀️
After vet checks, we found out that Scooby and Drew were boys. They were neutered straight away, and Scooby was separated from the girls. He was okay on his own, but clearly missed having a companion.
To skip ahead a bit, there ended up being 3 litters in total – 15 kits. Two litters were from Bramble (who has sadly passed), and one from Hattie. Unfortunately, fireworks caused Hattie to go into premature labour and she lost all of her babies. She seemed to cope at the time, especially as there were still babies around and she helped Bramble care for them.
During this time, they were all incredibly friendly and loved attention. However, in January, as I started rehoming the kits, Bramble became unwell (which I didn’t realise at the time) and began fighting with Hattie. I separated them immediately and moved Hattie in with Scooby – luckily, they bonded again straight away.
Sadly, Bramble deteriorated quickly and passed away at the beginning of February. Since then, Hattie hasn’t been the same. She keeps her distance from me and can be a bit hostile when handled. However, when she’s with Scooby – eating, playing, just being together – she’s clearly happy and content.
Drew and Scooby are still very affectionate and love cuddles.
I’ve done my absolute best for them – they are loved and well cared for – but the one thing I can’t give them enough of is time. I work 50 hours a week, and they deserve more attention than I can give.
I’m looking for someone experienced with rabbits who can give them the time, patience and love they need and deserve.
