Description
Milo is a beautiful, affectionate Pomeranian with a big personality. He is very clingy and bonds closely with his person. He absolutely loves attention, cuddles, and his toys, and when he feels safe and settled he can be incredibly loving and sweet.
Milo does, however, need a very experienced home with someone who can dedicate a lot of time, patience, and consistency to his training and management. He is a reactive dog and can become overstimulated or tired, at which point he may growl, snap, or bite. Because of this, he is not suitable for a first-time dog owner.
He barks at most things and is reactive to his environment, although he is generally getting better at passing people and dogs on walks, he lives with another male Pomeranian and is not aggressive, but he is very boisterous and constantly tries to engage him in play, which can be overwhelming for an older dog. For this reason, they are kept separated. Milo also marks territory indoors.
Milo can be wary of new people and needs time and space to build trust. Once he understands that someone is kind and safe, he can become very friendly and affectionate. He can be protective of his owner and may growl if people come too close, so continued training around guarding behaviour is essential.
He has been around an 8-year-old child and is generally good, but there have been moments where he has snapped or reacted when she approached closely, particularly when he was tired or feeling protective. Because of this, a home with older children or no children would be best.
Milo would thrive in a calm, structured environment with someone who can give him full attention, ongoing training, and clear boundaries. An adopter with experience in reactive or high-needs dogs would be ideal.
Milo will come with his crate and toys.
This is a very difficult decision, and I want nothing more than for Milo to go to a home that understands his needs and is committed to helping him reach his full potential.
