Pros
Exceptionally intelligent and highly trainable — one of the most capable large family crossbreeds
Loving, loyal, and reliably gentle with children of all ages
Versatile working ability — excels as a family pet, therapy dog, or canine sports partner
Sociable and friendly with strangers when properly socialised from puppyhood
Cons
Heavy year-round shedder requiring daily brushing — not suited to low-maintenance households
Large and energetic, needing 60 or more minutes of vigorous exercise every day
Prone to bloat — feeding before or after strenuous exercise must always be avoided
Predisposed to several serious hereditary conditions, making thorough health testing essential before purchase
