Description
This is my stunning pick of the litter woody. He is a real character, extremely loving and intelligent. Very well behaved and trained already at a young age.
Please note the description below is a very emotional situation for myself and can go into further detail only with people who seem like a good match for woody.
Woody is 95% house trained, he has mastered going to the toilet in the garden pretty much immediately after letting him out, morning and night and everything in between. I have kept some puppy pads down for accidents, and he uses them inside occasionally through the night or at times I have maybe been occupied cooking dinner for example. On the lovely days we’ve been having I’ve left my door open for him to come in and out as he pleases and he’s super mature for his age and glad to lay out in the sun with our other dogs. He is not needy what so ever. He loves his food and he’s on a high quality, high protein puppy food which is what he’s been weaned onto from the start. I would like woody to stay on high quality food and can give support and advice on feeding recommendations, if he were to be changed onto something else.
Woody has been on many many walks, off lead from the start. His recall has been perfect, every single time. He will even retreat from going over to other dogs if I have called him back mid run.
He is friendly around dogs he doesn’t know, and confident with people. How ever due to my personal training ways, he is not super interested in meeting new people on walks and would rather stay with us and ignore. To me, that’s preferable, I like my dogs to stay focused on myself and not be tempted with distractions.
He has been left for periods of time for up to 2hours (usually a lot less than that) and he has been an absolute angel at home.
He really would be a credit to anybody interested in him, with him still being young and able to settle into a new routine, but lucky enough to be so intelligent that he’s pretty much fully trained already.
Woody has not been vaccinated, I would prefer for anybody enquiring about him to consider a natural and alternative approach. However I do understand this is not something everybody can agree on so if I found a home that I think would be perfect for him then I would take this into consideration but there will be a written agreement in place.
Woody will only be rehomed to somebody if I think they will be able to provide him a top quality, loving home that he has more stability in than our current very sad situation.
I am his original breeder so I kept woody from our litter of 7 cockapoos, they were all black and identical, there was just something about woody that stood out to me and I couldn’t let him go.
He is absolutely best friends with my 2 year old son, as it is clear to see from the photos. I am absolutely heartbroken to even consider finding woody a new home, we have found ourselves in a unfortunate and not foreseen situation at home with a rough & unpredictable future ahead of us. I feel as though woody deserves better.
I am in no rush for woody to leave us, and if a suitable 5star home does not come up for him then I will jump through hoops to find a way to make things work, however … taking into consideration the absolutely amazing homes his litter mates have found (and doing perfectly in!) I feel that the least selfish thing to do would be at least to put feelers out there and if a home comes up where they can offer him more in this crucial stage of his life then I will deal with the emotions of that when the time comes.
To add, woody has had his first groom performed by myself (been grooming my dogs for over 10 years) so at this time he’s got a beautiful shiny, short coat. Mainly due to it being quite hot at the moment and we’ve been going in the stream on our local walks and just prevents as many baths he’s needed from getting a bit mucky. Before he was groomed he had lovely long, thick curls and they will grow back in 3-4months time so he will need regular grooming.
