Description
Honey is a beautiful, affectionate girl looking for a special home where she can continue to build her confidence and truly flourish. With the right people by her side, she has all the potential to become a wonderful and devoted companion.
Honey is already making great progress. She walks beautifully on the lead and has even travelled on buses without any issues. While she can be a little cautious around new people initially, all she needs is a little time and space to approach at her own pace. Once she realises she's safe, her sweet nature shines through.
One of the most heart warming parts of Honey's day is greeting her people each morning. With a wagging tail, excited little hops, and gentle mouthing of your hand, she shows just how much she loves those she trusts. She is an incredibly affectionate girl who enjoys being close to her family and sharing quiet moments together.
Honey would thrive in a calm, structured home with patient adopters who understand that building trust takes time. She is currently living successfully with multiple dogs and children aged between 10 and 18 years old, showing that she can happily be part of a family environment.
In her previous home, it was believed that Honey had a high prey drive. However, she had been allowed off lead after only five weeks in the home, something we would never recommend before a dog has developed a strong bond and reliable recall. With appropriate training, guidance, and patience, Honey will have every opportunity to succeed.
Honey also underwent a leg operation around two years ago. The good news is that it does not affect her day-to-day life in any way. She runs, plays, walks, and enjoys life just like any other dog, and you genuinely wouldn't know she had ever had surgery.
We believe Honey may be part Golden Retriever, as her mother appeared to be a pedigree Golden Retriever, although this cannot be guaranteed.
