Description
He is a very loyal dog, friendly with other dogs, people and children. He is enthusiastic and a great watch dog. Shows no signs of aggression and no issue with children. He is ok ish with cats.
He would ideally have a home with a decent sized garden and an owner/owners who can give him plenty of attention and time. Ideally new owner would be familiar with German Shepherds. He would be fine with a female dog or castrated male. He can sometimes be a bit pushy with entire males.
His parents are KC registered, mum is a black GSD and dad is a sable colour. Nelson is a slim shorthaired straight backed German Shepherd with an excellent temperament. Weighs ca. 40kgs. He loves company and will sleep indoors or outdoors (summer). He will happily lie on the sofa or floor in the evening. He loves toys and other dogs and enjoys a daily walk and being kept busy with his nose. While he is an excellent watch dog, he shows no signs of aggression with people or dogs.
He is not a greedy dog with food - he loves raw food but eats other foods such as kibble and soft meats.
He responds well to treats, balls, toys and has good recall when out on walks.
He has a tendency to wander on our land and chase foxes - as we have a livestock in neighbouring fields, we are concerned about him getting access to livestock hence needing to reluctantly rehome him.
