Description
We are looking to rehome our Senegal parrot as he has started regularly biting & latching me when I’m trying to handle him.
My partner, family members & friends are able to handle him- but he has decided in his mortal enemy.
I really didn’t want to have to rehome him but because of me being his main provider & no longer being able to safely handle him that it’s having a negative impact on his welfare.
He’s a generally happy bird, he says a few words, meows, farts & can kiss. He loves music & being spoken to & he’s on a pelleted diet & is a very good eater.
I used to be able to take him in the shower, take him outside on a lead, clip his claws etc, but this behaviour change has left me unable to do that. Ideally I would want him to go to someone who has the time (& the ability) to take care of him properly, as I know he is capable of having a lot more freedoms, it’s just this latching behaviour which has made it very stressful for both he and I to be handled and do these things anymore.
If you have any questions please reach out.
