Please do not message simply asking to meet Duke. We have an adoption process in place to make sure we find the right match for every dog. Once we have received your application, a member of the team will contact you to discuss the next steps if we feel your home could be suitable.
DUKE – 9 YEARS OLD – FOSTERED IN PAISLEY
Duke is a gorgeous 9-year-old boy looking for a special home where he can enjoy his retirement years feeling safe, loved and truly part of the family.
He’s a big boy at around 38kg, but underneath that size is an incredibly gentle, sweet-natured dog.
Duke has been in foster for a while and has changed enormously. When he first arrived, he had a lot to learn about trusting people and enjoying life in a home. Now he loves his home comforts, happily curls up on the sofa and thoroughly enjoys being cared for.
He would suit a relatively quiet household where he can enjoy a slower pace of life. If things get a little too much, Duke is very good at taking himself off to another room or the garden for some quiet time.
Duke currently lives happily alongside both dogs and cats and enjoys meeting other dogs when out.
He loves his walks, having a good sniff and exploring, although his exercise needs to be gentle and controlled and kept to around an hour or less each day.
Duke has mild hip dysplasia in his hind legs and arthritis in one of his front legs, which means he walks with a limp. This is currently managed with prescribed pain relief, joint supplements and appropriate exercise.
He can also be left home alone and settles happily while you're out – although you can expect a very enthusiastic welcome when you return!
And Duke absolutely loves his natural treats. Bring those out and suddenly our 9-year-old gentleman becomes a very excited youngster again.

Duke doesn’t need a busy or adventurous life.
He needs a comfortable sofa, a garden, gentle walks, tasty treats, somewhere quiet to retreat when he wants to and someone who will love him for the rest of his days.
As Duke is an older dog, his adoption fee has been reduced.
