Hiya, this is benji, he’s 13 months, I’m not sure what he’s mixed with, we rehomed him before Xmas but unfortunately we don’t have the time he needs, we have a 2 and 1 year old who needs our attention 24/7 as they aren’t in nursery yet.
Benjis behaviour:
He did have major separation anxiety however we have calmed it down a lot, he will still chew things if it’s near enough, he has chewed a few of our daughters toys.
Overnight he will have a few barks here and there but if you tell him to lay down he will and the barking will stop, I wouldn’t recommend putting anything in his crate when he’s not supervised as he will chew it.
Outside he’s good on the lead until he gets a strong scent, at which point he will pull to get to it, meeting other dogs he will submit and lay down, he did used to bark a lot when he saw dogs going past but that’s slowly stopping as he’s learning to lay down and wait, at which point he then knows he can meet them.
I was told he’s off lead trained however we are near roads and there’s no where secure to test it so I don’t know for sure. He is amazing with dogs and cats and has lived with them, he will try to herd our cat and it’s funny to watch tbh.
We didn’t want this to happen however we just don’t have the time to get those habits out of him, he needs to go to a home that knows what they are doing and has the time for him, he will benefit living with a family who has dogs.
