Description
I’m sadly looking to rehome my 2-year-old black-headed caique. He is an absolutely wonderful parrot in the right environment – very loving, playful, and full of personality. He enjoys interaction and can be very affectionate once trust is built.
However, he can be reactive to hands and does bite, sometimes quite hard. The biting has only ever been towards hands, never faces or other body parts. Because of this, he will need an experienced parrot home that understands caique behaviour, body language, and bite management.
This is my first parrot, and with two young children in the home, I don’t feel I am the right long-term placement for him. This decision is not made lightly – his safety and happiness come first.
He will come with:
• His cage
• Toys
• All current food and supplies
I paid £800 for him, so I would be looking for £800 or close to this to ensure a serious and suitable home.
I am looking for a knowledgeable, calm, and committed home where he can thrive. Please only enquire if you have genuine parrot experience and understand the needs of caiques.
Happy to answer questions and would like to ensure he goes to the right home.
