Can you imagine how confusing that must be for a little dog?
Max is seven years old, with the most adorable underbite, a huge personality and a heart absolutely bursting with love.
He once had a happy life in Romania. He had an owner who loved and cherished him, and Max loved them right back.
Then his owner sadly died, and Max found himself out on the streets.
Eventually, he made it to safety and even found another home. But sadly, that didn't work out, and Max was returned to rescue.
Now he's back in kennels in Jedburgh, in the Scottish Borders.
For a dog who has known the comfort of a home and the companionship of someone who loves him, it's heartbreaking to think of him waiting behind a kennel door again.
But here's what we really want you to know about Max.
He's a proper little character!
That funny underbite gives him a permanently cheeky expression, and he gets SO excited when he sees people he knows.
He loves his walks, enjoys a good wander, is partial to a tasty treat and absolutely adores a cuddle.
There's so much life and personality in this little dog, and we'd love to see him enjoying it.
Pottering around a garden, heading out for walks, having his own cosy bed and someone to make a fuss of him every day.
Of course, Max is a terrier, and he comes with some very terrier-like opinions!
He absolutely cannot live with cats, and he needs an adult-only home with someone experienced and confident with terriers.
Max is generally good with other dogs, although they don't always take kindly to him. Perhaps that underbite makes him look a little tougher than he really is! Any introductions to resident dogs would need to be gentle and carefully managed.
We're looking for an experienced FOSTER or FOSTER-TO-ADOPT home.
Max is currently in Jedburgh, Scottish Borders, and we'd strongly recommend a few meet and greets before making any decisions. We want his next move to be the right one, so it's important that everyone has the opportunity to get to know each other properly.
There's no need to promise forever from day one. Fostering gives Max the chance to enjoy home life again, with the support of Love4Dogs, while we work towards finding the right long-term match.
