Description
These incredibly beautiful katydids from the jungles in South America are also easy to keep and breed. The latin name is Typophyllum trapeziforme, I call them Typos but there is no mistake how fabulous their disguise is. They even have a section "chewed out" of the wing covers.
They eat buddleia which stands in water to stay fresh. Buddleia is evergreen though the quality is less good in winter.
The females, interestingly, lay their eggs in rotten wood or oasis.
