It’s with a very heavy heart that I’m looking to rehome my 5-year-old violet chinchilla, Tofu, due to relocating. I’ve had Tofu for the last 3 years. He was previously bonded with his friend Black Bean, who sadly passed away 2 years ago. Tofu is initially shy, but once he gets to know you he has such a sweet and inquisitive personality and will happily interact with you. He’s used to being handled, although it’s not exactly his favourite thing! He absolutely loves his dust baths, dried carrot, having lots of space to explore and height to climb and run around. My biggest priority is finding Tofu a genuinely lovely home. Ideally, I’d love him to eventually have a chinchilla companion, so I’m looking for someone who has experience keeping chinchillas and has properly researched and understands the process of bonding them. I want to know that whoever takes him on can give him plenty of space, enrichment, love and the companionship he deserves. He currently has a lovely fully furnished double-tier cage, which I’d like to sell with him for £250, including: • Good quality wheel • Water bottle • Cage cleaner & towels • Chews & toys • Hammocks • Sand & sand bath • Food • Other cage accessories He currently eats Science Selective Balanced Chinchilla Food and Nature’s Touch Chinchilla Food from Pets at Home. 📍 Near Bristol — collection only. I’m in no rush to let him go and will be very particular about the home he goes to. I’d much rather wait for the right person than let him go somewhere that isn’t suitable.
