Description

It's with a heavy heart that we've made the decision to find a new home for our lovely boy, Milo. Milo is a 10-month-old miniature dachshund with a big personality! He's a happy, energetic, playful little guy who absolutely loves food, playing, and being around his people. He's also incredibly affectionate and loves a good cuddle, although he's still very much a puppy and sometimes struggles to sit still long enough for one! He's grown up in a busy household with our three young children and is wonderful with them. **A little about Milo:** - Fully toilet trained - Walks well on the lead - Has good off-lead recall - Understands basic commands, including "stay" - Fully vaccinated, microchipped, and up to date with regular vet checkups - No known health issues or concerns - Not yet neutered, following our vet's advice to wait until closer to 12 months. We've had no issues with marking or humping. **His personality:** Milo is a typical dachshund in many ways! He's vocal, loves to bark, has plenty of energy, and prefers to be wherever his people are. He's a real little character with so much love to give. We also want to be completely transparent about the areas where Milo could benefit from a little more guidance. Although he's had some socialisation, we'd love for him to go to someone who can continue building his confidence and experiences. He can be a little protective of our children, particularly in public spaces or when visitors come into our home while the children are there. He's never bitten anyone, but he can become guarded and bark in these situations. We feel this is something that would benefit from consistent training and further socialisation. **Why are we rehoming him?** When we welcomed Milo into our family, we genuinely believed we could manage life with three young children and a puppy. Unfortunately, we've realised that it's more than we can realistically give our time and energy to. Milo deserves more attention, stimulation, and one-on-one time than we're currently able to offer him. This hasn't been an easy decision, but we want to do what's best for him rather than continue in a situation where we feel we're not meeting all his needs. **The home we're hoping to find:** We're looking for a loving, responsible home with someone who understands the dachshund breed, has the time to give him the attention and exercise he needs, and is happy to continue working on his training and socialisation. He's been wonderful with our children, so a home with children isn't out of the question, but we'd want to make sure it's the right fit for everyone. Milo can come with his crate and toys to help make the transition a little easier. Finding the right home is far more important to us than finding one quickly. We love him dearly and want to know he's going somewhere he'll be happy, loved, and given the time he deserves. Please feel free to message me if you'd like to know more about Milo or think you could offer him a wonderful home. We're happy to answer any questions and would love to learn a little about any potential new family. ❤️
