Dexter – 3-Year-Old Neutered Male Rottweiler – Experienced Home Required
We are looking for an experienced, adult only home that can offer Dexter the structure, consistency and commitment he needs.
Dexter originally belonged to my mum's former partner and was left in her care when the relationship ended. Unfortunately, my mum has a spinal injury and is unable to physically manage a large, powerful dog. My sister and I have been caring for Dexter alongside supporting our mum and working full-time, but we cannot provide the long-term home he deserves.
Despite lacking consistency and structure throughout parts of his life, Dexter has shown encouraging progress with professional training and has huge potential in the right home.
Important Information
• Adult-only home needed
• Previous Rottweiler or similar guardian breed experience essential
• Has behavioural challenges, including resource guarding and reactive behaviour in certain situations
• Requires ongoing training, management and consistency
• Best suited as the only dog in the home (he can be selective with other dogs)
About Dexter

• Toy motivated and enjoys training
• Loves scent work, searching games and mental enrichment activities
• Intelligent and enjoys having a job to do
• Affectionate, loyal and forms strong bonds with his people
• A real velcro dog who loves being close to his family
• Recently completed an intensive week with a professional trainer and showed significant improvement, particularly around vehicle reactivity (ecollar conditioned)
• Received puppy vaccinations (boosters not currently up to date)
• All paperwork will be provided
This is an incredibly difficult decision for our family and we are committed to finding the right home rather than the quickest one.
We will ask questions about your experience, household and home environment before arranging any meetings.
