Meet Rocco, a 10 month old GSD/Curly coated Retriever. He is a decent sized lad, closer to GSD size and with more of their traits.
Unfortunately his family have had a change of circumstances and he’s found himself looking for a new home.
He’s lived with three children aged 5-15 years with no problems and he is very appropriate indoors.
He hasn’t shared indoor space with any other animals - dogs or cats. He was very interested in the chickens and ducks when he visited the rescue. He has the typical noise of a GSD.
This boy was attacked by another off lead dog when he was younger and he submitted to the other dog, leaving him feeling nervous of other dogs. We need an adopter who is willing to link in with one of our trainers to have at least one handling session to be shown/taught the handling skills needed. This is a very easily trained change of a behaviour and we are here to offer this.
Rocco is a very lovely, friendly dog with people - including children. But he requires a confident handler, experienced with this breed of dog.
Someone local to Nottinghamshire would be ideal so they can have a handling lesson included to get them started. We are confident with this, he will be a very nicely trained, beautiful dog.
Rocco is not neutered due to his age, his new adopter will need to commit to schedule this in when Rocco is old enough.
