🐾 Meet STELLA – A Little Soul Learning To Trust Again 🐾
Stella’s story is one that truly touches the heart.
She ended up in the public kill shelter together with her last surviving puppy. It is likely she had already lost others before being captured. In that harsh and frightening place, she held on desperately to that final little one — her only comfort, her only reason to keep going.
Our rescuer noticed her and arranged for her rescue. But heartbreakingly, the day before Stella was due to leave the shelter, her puppy passed away.
Stella was left confused, grieving and completely lost, unable to understand why everything had been taken from her.
In memory of her baby, she was named Stella — “little star” — for the little star her puppy has now become, and for the hope that Stella herself may one day shine again. ✨
📅 Estimated date of birth: April 2023
📏 Approx. height: 55 cm
🏷 Possible mix: perhaps Griffon Vendéen, Border Collie and local shepherd-type influences, giving her a beautiful rough-coated appearance combined with elegance and intelligence.
✨ Looks & Gentle Charm
Stella is an absolutely beautiful girl with her scruffy, rufty-tufty coat, soulful eyes and soft, thoughtful expression.
She carries herself with a quiet grace — the kind of dog who has clearly suffered, yet somehow still remains gentle and kind inside.
There is something incredibly touching about her:
a fragile soul slowly trying to rediscover safety and comfort in a world that has not always been kind to her.
🖤 Stella’s World Right Now
At the moment, Stella is living in a loving family environment together with several calm and stable “support dogs” — and this has been incredibly important for her emotional recovery.
Because Stella is still very sensitive and timid, the presence of the other dogs gives her reassurance and courage.
She watches them closely.
And little by little, she starts copying them.
Thanks to their calm example, Stella is beginning to dare tiny little steps out of her shell.
For example, she now allows short gentle touches at times, simply because she sees the other dogs enjoying affection and slowly starts understanding that human hands can also bring comfort, safety and kindness.
It is honestly beautiful to watch.
Right now, Stella lives quietly in her own little world:
surrounded by dogs, soft routines, patient people and gentle energy.
She sleeps together with the other dogs on the sofa, quietly follows daily family life around her and happily does her needs in the garden.
A harness and lead still feel too frightening for her at the moment, so for now she is never pushed beyond what she emotionally feels able to cope with.
First, Stella simply needs time.
Time to trust.
Time to breathe.
Time to discover that life can offer more than fear and survival.
And slowly… she is starting to discover exactly that.
🌱 Character
Behind Stella’s timidness lies an incredibly tender and sensitive soul.
She is gentle by nature, soft, observant and emotionally delicate. She never seeks conflict and truly finds comfort in calm companionship — both canine and human.
She does not need pressure, expectations or someone trying to “fix” her quickly.
What Stella needs most is:
tender love and care…
patience…
much patience…
and people capable of understanding sensitive dogs without forcing them.
Because when dogs like Stella finally begin to trust, it is one of the most beautiful things imaginable to witness.
Every tiny step feels enormous.
Every moment of trust feels precious.
🏡 Stella’s Ideal Home
For Stella, we are searching for a very special kind of home.
Her future family should be:
• Calm, patient and emotionally gentle
• Understanding of fearful or sensitive rescue dogs
• Willing to let Stella progress entirely at her own pace
• Able to offer a secure private garden with safe fencing
• Home most of the time or living a quieter lifestyle
Most importantly:
we would absolutely LOVE Stella to have one or more calm, friendly support dogs in her future home.
She gains enormous emotional strength from other balanced dogs and truly blossoms through their example and companionship.
A confident, stable dog friend could make all the difference in helping Stella continue opening up to the world.
✨ No pressure. No expectations. Just safety, love and patience. ✨
And one day, little by little, Stella will bloom.
