🧬 About the Species
Yellow Lab Cichlids (Labidochromis caeruleus) are one of the most popular African cichlids, loved for their vibrant electric-yellow colour and relatively peaceful temperament compared to many other Malawi cichlids.
They’re ideal for hobbyists wanting colourful, active fish with loads of personality and movement in the tank.

📏 Size & Behaviour
• Adult Size: Around 4–5 inches (10–13 cm)
• Temperament: Semi-aggressive but generally one of the calmer Mbuna species
• Behaviour: Active swimmers that enjoy rocky environments and caves. Males may become territorial as they mature, especially in smaller tanks.

• Tank Size: Minimum 100 litres recommended
• Water Parameters: pH 7.5–8.5 | Temperature 24–28°C
• Diet: Omnivorous – thrives on quality cichlid pellets, spirulina-based foods, and occasional protein treats
• Habitat: Prefers rocky aquascapes with plenty of caves and hiding spaces
• Compatibility: Best kept with other African cichlids of similar temperament and size
