Rehoming My Sweet German Shorthaired Pointer boy, Clyde.
Our goal was always to give Clyde a forever home, and over the years, he's become a beloved member of our family. Clyde has striking noble looks and an athletic build. He is a fantastic example of the breed.
Clyde is a 5 year old German Shorthaired Pointer, he is an experienced stud dog and has already produced litters. He is beautifully marked, liver and white with plentiful ticking. He has the relevant health tests for the breed and is Kennel Club registered. More information available on request or have a look at his stud listing for further details on this. However we are happy for you to consider having him castrated. Finding him a happy home is much more important to us.
Due to the dynamics with our other dogs, we’ve started having some issues. That said this has only been with smaller male dogs sharing the same home. Clyde would be very happy living with other female dogs of a similar size or bigger. I just want to ensure everyone’s safety. As a devoted dog person, rehoming Clyde is not a decision I take lightly; it’s truly about the safety and well-being of all our dogs. Out on walks and in open spaces Clyde is good with all other dogs and just ignores other dogs when on his lead.
Clyde walks quietly by your side on the lead and does not pull. He has a good recall when off lead and loves to play with other dogs or a ball.
He’s wonderful with children, although can sometimes jump up. Anyone familiar with German Shorthaired Pointers will understand! He’s never been around cats and may chase them, so a cat-free home would be ideal. His house training does still require further work, as he occasionally scent marks in hard floored areas of the house. This may not be an issue in a different house.
Despite these considerations, Clyde is a sweet, loving boy with a laid back attitude to life who just wants lots of love and attention. Clyde is very loyal to his owner and is not suited to life in a kennel or run, he does need to live in a house.
He is the most laid back GSP I have ever met! He is unwavering in his calm attitude to life. He is an affectionate family dog and a big fan of lounging around on the sofa and just loves belly rubs and cuddles! But what GSP doesn't!
Clyde is up to date with his vaccinations, flea and worm treatment. (Last vet check December 2025)
