Description
Texas is 6 months old.
Mum was a German Shepard and Dad was a Malinois X American Akita.
He came to us with a broken front leg and on crate rest.
Texas is the most beautiful, loyal boy (I may be biased) and is quick to learn.
Due to breaking his front leg at the breeders, he has a metal plate and screws fitted.
In the future this may need removing or replacing so pre-existing insurance is a must.
He is kibble fed with top ups of fish oil, eggs, veggie and fruits.
Due to his leg his weight and growth needs to be slow and monitored.
But he could easily change to raw.
He’s a shoe stealer, will greet you with a howl when you come home and loves a cuddle!
Due to his breed, he needs a working/active home.
He’s awake from 5:30am and is ready to take on the day straight away.
Due to his leg, impact sports are a no go but scent work would be fab for him.
He lives with children and is a gentle baby with them, but as always, is never left unattended with them as he is a mouthy pup.
He loves having a snooze on the sofa after a good run, will play tug, football and “fetch”.
He knows sit and down, and we’re working on stay etc.
He can NOT be homed with small pets or cats as his prey drive is high.
He is crate trained, with it open for him to go in and out during the day willingly. The door is closed at night though.
He’s fully toilet trained.
Walking - due to being on crate rest for so long, he needs to go right back to the beginning.
He pulls like a freight train, but will sit and re-focus with a tempting treat.
He is currently being walked/exercised away from from other dogs as he is not a fan.
With correct training/socialisation he should over come this.
Rehoming Tex is not something we want to do, nor ever planned for.
After 5 years working from home, my partner now has to go back to the office and Tex can’t be left alone for over 9 hours a day.
He’s a sweet boy, that will bring so much joy and love to your life…just as he has done to ours.
We will wait for the right home for him!
He will come with his crate, what’s left of his chew toys haha, food bin with kibble, bowls, lead and collar.
He was microchipped as a pup, but we didn’t get the number when rescuing him.
He was treated at the PDSA in Bournemouth., which have the record.
