Description
This is our beautiful Maggie. She is a KC registered golden retriever who through no fault of her own needs to be rehomed.
Maggie is a brilliant dog and she has a hilarious personality. She has true retriever qualities and the first thing she does in the morning is finds something she can take outside with her to go pee! She likes to sit on her butt like a human whilst you scratch her chest!
Unfortunately although doing research before getting Maggie we was a bit naive and inexperienced with this breed. They have so much energy!
As a 5 foot 4 woman I do struggle to walk Maggie as she is very strong and full of energy for the first 10 minutes. My husband can walk her fine but this can’t happen every day due to work commitments. Maggies new humans will need to be physically able to handle a larger breed of dog to ensure she can be exercised daily.
Maggie is extremely gentle, we also have a small maltipoo who is tiny compared to Maggie yet they play and she never gets too tough with him even when our other dog pushes the boundaries which is often!
Maggie is great with kids but she is a bit clumsy sometimes and doesn’t realise her size!
During walks maggie is a bit of a mud pig and will head for the nearest puddle to roll in if given the chance! She still has some training to do off and on lead.
She is toilet trained & also crate trained for bed time.
Maggie is used to having somebody home all day most days. I’ve left her for 4-5 hours and she has been fine but in general she is used to someone being around so would prefer her to have the same environment when she leaves us.
Please only enquire if you are able bodied, have time and patience to exercise maggie daily along with training / stimulation and if someone will be home for the majority of the time so she isn’t alone.
We are not in a rush to rehome Maggie and will not let her go to anyone. We just want her to have a nice home where she can be sufficiently stimulated.
Maggie has had all her vaccinations, microchip and flea & worm treatment. She will come with food, bowl, bed, crate, lead, collar etc.
