Description

I am absolutely devastated to be advertising Cloud, my 2.5 year old Newfoundland. Due to unavoidable life changes, I will no longer be able to give him the life he fully deserves. Cloud is a big boy, around 80kg, so you’ll need to be strong. He plays effortlessly with my 5 year old son and adores people. He is excitable around dogs, just wanting to play with any that come near. I have never seen or heard him treat any living being with any malice. He lived alongside an elderly Labrador for over a year and they got along famously. We obtained Cloud at around 16 weeks old. His initial owners (after breeder) had him for around 5 weeks and realised they weren’t going to be able to cope with him. I brought him home straight away and he thrived in a new environment. Fully house trained within 48 hours of getting here, but doesn’t like to be left alone for too long. Cloud definitely prefers the outdoors. He will fall asleep in the snow happily and prefers sub zero temperatures to the warm, however he will fall asleep at your feet in a cosy room, just expect him to yearn for the cold after a short while. Oddly for a Newfoundland, he’s not fond of water. He’ll let you bath him but it will feel like he’s rolling his eyes at you the entire time. Dietary wise, we’ve found AVA or Harrington best, with a mix of bagged food and tinned (of quality), this has been discussed with a dog nutritionalist. He doesn’t do so well with fish, he’ll eat it all but it often comes back. I just want him to be loved and to go to a place where he’ll have the freedom and company he needs. If you have any questions about him please do let me know.
