Description

With a very heavy heart, I am looking for an exceptional permanent home for Ocean, my beautiful young Russian Blue. Ocean was born in May 2025, and I have had him since he was around a month old. He has grown up in my home alongside five other cats and is very accustomed to sharing his environment with both people and other cats. Ocean has a particularly mellow, gentle and friendly personality. He isn't dominant or confrontational and generally gets along very well with other cats. I think he would be particularly well suited to a home with another friendly, non-aggressive cat looking for companionship. Once Ocean knows and trusts you, he is wonderfully affectionate. He isn't the sort of cat who constantly demands to be picked up or followed around and entertained, but he genuinely enjoys human company. If you're sitting watching television, for example, he may decide that your lap is exactly where he wants to be. He is also a champion biscuit-maker. When he's happy and settled with his person, he loves kneading away — beside you or quite happily on you — accompanied by an extraordinarily loud purr. For such a gentle, understated little cat, he has a surprisingly impressive motor. That distinction is quite important with Ocean: he isn't demanding, but he is social. He thrives on having life around him, whether that is human companionship, feline companionship, or ideally both. For that reason, I don't think he would be suited to being the only cat in a home where everyone is routinely away for very long hours. A household where someone works from home much of the time, a family where people are regularly around, or a home with another compatible cat would suit him beautifully. Like Russian Blues generally, Ocean is bright, observant and intelligent. He has an elegant, soft grey coat and absolutely stunning emerald-green eyes, which are difficult to do justice to in words — the photographs probably say that better than I can. Because he has been raised in a multi-cat household from such a young age, he is very accustomed to feline company. He is not an alpha personality and doesn't need to be in charge; with another gentle cat who is receptive to him, I would expect him to have a very good chance of settling happily. I am rehoming Ocean solely because of a significant change in my personal circumstances. This is an extremely difficult decision, and finding the right long-term home matters much more to me than finding one quickly. I would give strong preference to a home with a secure/cat-proofed garden, or otherwise a genuinely safe arrangement for outdoor access. Having cared for many pedigree cats over the years, I am extremely cautious about unrestricted access to roads and about the theft risk associated with distinctive pedigree cats. Ocean will go to his new home with his familiar belongings and an initial supply of his usual food to make the transition easier. His documentation will of course be provided as well. The rehoming fee is not intended to recover what I originally paid for him; finding the right permanent home is my priority. It is there simply to ensure that enquiries represent a considered commitment to taking on a young pedigree cat. I will be selective about his new home and would really like to hear from people who feel that Ocean would fit naturally into their lives rather than simply those looking for a Russian Blue. If you're interested, please tell me a little about your household, working pattern, experience with cats, any existing pets, whether you own or rent your home, and the indoor/outdoor environment you could offer him. Above all, I am looking for someone who will give this exceptionally sweet little cat a secure, affectionate and permanent home.
