Description
We are delighted to announce the safe arrival of our long anticipated of our Gamekeeper bred Wire Haired Dachshund (Teckel) litter from our Kennel Club registered bitch Clankeeper Goldbutcher to Kennel Club registered Starman Blast.
The puppies are from working parents so would absolutely do a job such as vermin control or deer tracking (which both do) or be suitable as loyal and loving pets. Both parents are excellent examples of the breed with moderately long bodies with a short, dense, wiry coat, a prominent breast bone and adequate ground clearance to avoid exaggerations which cause back issues. The COI (inbreeding coefficient) for this pairing is 0.1% meaning NO inbreeding. The breed average is 2.7% meaning this is a new line within the UK.
Mum is a pinwire (short wire coat requiring minimal grooming/stripping) she is a loyal and extremely loving Teckel, she comes out with us on the estate doing a range of jobs including dogging pheasants in, vermin control as well as deer tracking. She has a fantastic ‘off switch’ whereby she is a brilliant dog in the house, often found lying in the sun or next to the fire. She loves to curl up for a cuddle on your knee, she will happily walk all day or just relax in the house. She is brilliant with all dogs (walks/works with all of our gundogs) has brilliant manners/recall, is exceptionally clean in the house, isn’t a problem barker, is stock broken and fantastic with children.
Dad is a standard wire coat (requires stripping for maintenance) he is a lovely lad, very relaxed in nature but can switch to his working role in the drop of a hat, he is very laid back, has lovely manners/recall, clean in the kennel, not a problem barker and is fantastic with other dogs and children. Many of his previous puppies have gone overseas to loving homes for both working and pets.
We are very proud of this pairing and expect puppies to be fantastic dual purpose examples of the breed standard.
We currently have one female and two male puppies left available.
All puppies will be health checked, KC registered, fully wormed/frontlined, microchipped and come with a full puppy pack including food.
Our puppies will be raised indoors- starting their journey to being fully house trained, they will be used to general household noises as well as being handled daily by children and adults. They will also be allowed access to an outside area incase future owners wish to kennel.
Puppies will be allowed to leave at 8 weeks old- not before.

Not the best choice for first time owners because Dachshunds often have a mind of their own
Care must be taken with puppies because they must not be allowed to jump up or down from anywhere because it could damage their backs and joints
They are prone to putting on too much weight if not given enough daily exercise
