Description
Meet Teddy – a stunning jet black British Shorthair male, often described as a true “black panther” due to his striking solid black coat and powerful, elegant presence. His coat is deep jet black, silky, dense, and plush, with that classic British Shorthair teddy-bear texture. He has a strong muscular build, round chubby cheeks, and bright golden eyes that stand out beautifully against his dark coat, giving him a very premium and eye-catching appearance.
Teddy is a very healthy, happy, and well-socialised indoor cat. He has been raised in a home environment and is fully used to everyday household life. He is extremely friendly and affectionate, especially with children, and enjoys being around people. He loves attention, interaction, and being part of the family, but he is also independent enough to enjoy his own space when he wants to relax. He is not demanding or difficult – he has a very balanced, calm, and easy-going temperament.
He is also quite vocal and expressive, and likes to “talk” and communicate with his owners, which makes him very interactive and engaging. He is confident, relaxed, and settled in all environments he is familiar with, and does not show aggression or nervous behaviour.
Teddy comes from a GCCF pedigree bloodline, however I do not currently hold the physical paperwork as he was originally obtained directly from the breeder. Despite this, his quality, structure, and temperament clearly reflect his pedigree background. He is a high-quality British Shorthair with excellent confirmation and a very typical breed personality.
He is a strict indoor cat and must remain indoors in his new home. He is fully litter trained, clean, and well-behaved, with no destructive habits. He adapts well to routine and is easy to manage in a household setting.
One of the most important things about Teddy is his strong bond with my cinnamon British Shorthair male cat. The two of them are extremely close – they behave almost like brothers or twins. They sleep together, eat together, groom each other, and spend most of their time side by side. Their age difference is only a couple of weeks, and they have grown up together, forming a natural lifelong bond.
Because of this, I highly recommend Teddy is rehomed together with my cinnamon British Shorthair, as separating them would be very difficult for both cats. They are extremely well-matched and balanced together, and adopting both will make their transition into a new home much easier and less stressful. They truly thrive as a pair and are happiest when together.
Unfortunately, due to a change in my personal circumstances and an upcoming move, I am no longer allowed to keep any pets in my new home. This is the only reason I am having to make the very difficult decision to rehome Teddy and my other cats. This is not something I am doing lightly, as they are genuinely part of the family.
Teddy will only go to a loving, responsible home where he will be cared for properly and treated as part of the family. Ideally, someone who understands British Shorthairs and appreciates their affectionate but independent nature.
Key Points:
• Jet black British Shorthair male (“Black Panther” look)
• Silky, dense plush coat with muscular build
• Bright golden eyes and strong facial features
• Very friendly, affectionate, and people-oriented
• Great with children and family environments
• Indoor cat only
• Calm, balanced, and easy-going temperament
• Vocal and interactive personality
• GCCF pedigree bloodline (no physical paperwork held)
• Fully litter trained and well-behaved
• Extremely bonded with cinnamon British Shorthair male
• Strongly recommended to be rehomed as a pair
This is a genuinely special cat with a beautiful temperament and strong emotional bond with his companion. I am looking for a serious, loving home only – ideally where both cats can stay together and continue their life as they have always known it: calm, happy, and inseparable.
