NORA ISN’T JUST SETTLING IN. SHE’S SHOWING US WHAT A CRACKING DOG SHE IS. ❤️
The longer Nora is in foster, the more we're learning about her. And her foster carer describes her as an “exceptional dog”.
Her recall is fantastic. When it’s safe for her to be off lead, she stays close and comes back when called or whistled.
At bedtime, she knows exactly what to do. Tell her, “Night night Nora, sleepy bedtime” — yes, her foster admits it’s baby talk! — and off she goes to the room where she sleeps peacefully all night.
She’s learning to wait her turn for treats, although waiting her turn for cuddles is apparently a work in progress. Nora would still quite like to push to the front of that particular queue!
Even when the resident dogs are barking at someone at the door, Nora goes to investigate but doesn’t join in with the noise.
She can still be very unsure around strangers and occasionally a little cowed even with people she knows, so she needs someone kind and patient who will continue building her confidence.
But what a lovely dog is emerging.
Nora is around 3 years old and in foster in Manchester. We still feel she would be happiest as the only dog, where she doesn't have to compete for those all-important cuddles.
If you’re looking for a loyal companion who wants to be part of your life, Nora could be a very special girl to share it with.
