Description

Tattie is our newly re homed Working Labrador Retriever as he is a failed gun dog. He was born on 27/03/2025 and is currently 1.6 years old. He is very loving and affectionate. He grew up in a kennel on a farm with about ten other dogs, that is as much as we know about his past. Town life is very new to him. He is showing good progress in gaining weight as we got him underweight and we have tough him “Sit” and “Paw” commands. He has good recall. He is very timid but enjoys discovering new things and places. He is very careful approaching other people and shows no signs of aggression. Unfortunately, the extent of work needed for Tattie to overcome his traumas is more than we expected and can give to him. Ideally he would require a big enclosed garden or a farm with access to it at all times and someone home with him. He is well sleeping and being in cage for some time as long as he has his toys and some snacks for being a good boy. He sleeps well in a cage throughout the night as well, this is while we are training him to be potty trained. He likes to always stay close and not leave a sight. So we assume he has some separation anxiety. We have wormed him and treated him from flees and ticks but he is still need to be vaccinated, neutered and he has some hernia in his belly that was cleared as not dangerous by vet and can be treated when he is being neutered.
