Description

Lilly (white Collie sized) + Lulu (black spaniel size) Lilly is a classic livestock guardian breed — slightly aloof, wonderfully independent, and very much a girl who likes to do things in her own time. She listens, but if she feels rushed she’ll give you a look of disapproval and sometimes a small grumble to let you know she disagrees. It’s all part of her charm. She can be dominant around food with other dogs, but it’s limited to a grumble and everyone backs down. She has also grumbled at my grandson, so she was calmly moved to the bedroom, and now she chooses to take herself off in there whenever visitors arrive. It’s her safe space, and she uses it well. Aside from these boundaries, Lilly is a sweet, undemanding girl who is perfectly happy to snooze the day away. She enjoys mooching around the garden and will bark at passers‑by in true guardian‑breed fashion. Walks aren’t really her priority — she and her companion simply don’t seem interested — but they are content and settled in their routine. She’s a gentle soul with a strong guardian instinct, and in the right home that appreciates her independence, she’ll be a wonderfully easy, loyal companion. Fleabag (Lulu) is a wonderfully quirky, sensitive girl who’s still learning how to feel safe in the world. She’s very nervous around people and, when she feels pressured or overwhelmed, she freezes and may suddenly bolt — which only frightens her more. She needs someone patient, calm, and willing to put up with a bit of barking while she figures things out. Slow, consistent reassurance is what helps her most. She takes huge confidence from other dogs, and having them around genuinely helps her settle. Lilly has been a great comfort to her, even though the friendship is a little one‑sided — Lulu leans on Lilly far more than Lilly leans on her. Around food she can be snappy with other dogs, nothing serious, just showing her teeth and making a bit of noise to communicate her boundaries. Despite her quirks, Lulu is incredibly lovable. She’s sensitive, funny in her own way, and full of potential with the right person who understands her. Lilly provides Lulu with stability, confidence, and a sense of safety. Lulu’s anxiety softens when Lilly is nearby, and she mirrors Lilly’s calmness in day‑to‑day life. While Lilly isn’t overly invested in the friendship, she tolerates Lulu beautifully and gives her exactly what she needs: quiet companionship, predictability, and a steady presence. Separating them would remove Lulu’s main source of emotional grounding, and it would likely set her back significantly. Together, they form a balanced pair: Lilly offers calm leadership and routine. Lulu gains confidence and security from Lilly’s presence. They coexist peacefully, share space well, and settle best as a duo. For these reasons, it is in their best interest to be adopted as a bonded pair, even if the bond is not traditionally mutual. Lulu needs Lilly, and Lilly is perfectly content to have her around. Please note that a home check will be required as part of our adoption process. We ask for a £60 non‑refundable deposit per dog, and if you choose to adopt both dogs together we offer a reduced combined adoption fee of £680 (our typical fee is £450 per dog). Both dogs are brucellosis‑negative and fully up to date on all vaccinations. Total fee payable is £800.00
