Description
After a lot of thought, I have made the di180fficult decision to look for a new home for Jasper.
Jasper is a young male conure, approximately 1 year old. He is a very fluffy, adorable little bird with a huge personality. He loves millet, enjoys exploring and is always interested in what is going on around him.
Unfortunately, Jasper has not settled well within my flock and has become increasingly hormonal as he has matured. He has not formed a close bond with me and can be very challenging to handle.
Jasper actively seeks attention and interaction, but can switch moods very quickly and may bite without much warning. His bites can be hard and he will often target hands, fingers, ears and necks. Because of this, he is not suitable for children or for someone looking for a cuddly companion bird.
Jasper also has a negative association with his wings from being clipped before I got him and does not like having his body handled. He can glide but is not capable of normal flight and will need a home that understands his limitations.
Despite his challenges, Jasper is a bright, intelligent bird with lots of potential in the right hands. I believe he would do best with an experienced parrot owner who understands conure behaviour, hormones and bitey birds, and who is willing to work with him patiently.
His welfare is my absolute priority. I am not looking for a quick sale and will only consider homes that I feel are genuinely suitable for him.
Please message me with details of your bird experience and the home you could offer.
