🐀 Thor – 2-year-old male rat looking for a loving, rat-savvy home – Hampshire 🐀 This is an incredibly difficult post for us to make, as we absolutely adore Thor, but we are sadly considering rehoming him for his own happiness. Thor has just turned 2 years old and sadly lost his brother suddenly around a month ago. Since then, he has become noticeably lonely and depressed. 💔 They had always lived together and had a lovely bond, with no aggression between them. Thor is a lovely boy. ❤️ He has never bitten us, enjoys being handled and spending time with us, but he also absolutely loves getting out and exploring. He is a curious boy who enjoys having things to investigate and keeping himself busy. He has no known health conditions and isn’t currently on any medication, although we do feel he may be starting to lose vision in one eye. He is not neutered. Unfortunately, due to our current circumstances, we don’t have the time or ability to commit to getting more rats ourselves. We know that rats thrive with companionship, and although we give Thor as much attention as we can, we don’t feel that human company can replace having rat friends. For this reason, we are looking for a loving, experienced and rat-savvy home where Thor can have companionship with other suitable rats. 🏠 The home we’re looking for: • Experienced with rats and their introductions • Has, or is able to provide, suitable rat companionship for Thor • Understands that he is an older boy and may need a little extra care • Will give him plenty of attention, enrichment and out-of-cage time • Will treat him as a member of the family and care for him for the rest of his life • Ideally someone who would be happy to keep us updated and let us know how he settles This is not a decision we are taking lightly, and we will be very particular about where Thor goes. We would much rather wait for the right person than have him end up somewhere unsuitable. We are based in Hampshire and are willing to travel for the right home.
