Description
Rehoming: Beautiful 5-month-old Deerhound/Greyhound x Shepherd Mix
Skip is a stunning light-grey, long-legged, huge-eared puppy who has transformed while in my care.
He is fully house-trained, always dry overnight (8+ hours), goes politely to the door when he needs out. He sleeps in his crate over night. Doesn't chew his cushion bed. He is a very clean dog. Throughout the day he goes to his crate door for downtime. Even when visitors arrive during his downtime I have trained him to remain calm and to continue napping.
He is extremely polite around the house. He hasn't chewed anything despite teething at the minute. I have taught him drop, leave, sit, paw, wait, come, space, mine and to not nip. He can be touched while eating and playing with his toys.
Outside I have been building his confidence taking him to new places. He has started to walk at heel on a lead. I have also been teaching him to remain calm and ignore sheep whilst out on walks.
He travels well in the care. He can be left while you go out without crying or making a fuss.
He can self-entertain with toys when told 'space'. He is a lovely little puppy who has now had the best start.
He is on a good food with solid poos and no tummy issues.
Loves snuggles – lays across lap, soft face rubs, deep sighs, stares kindly into your eyes.
Skip is affectionate, intelligent, observant (watches and learns from my older dog), and incredibly responsive to calm, positive guidance. He’s not a pushy or demanding puppy – he’s gentle, respectful, and eager to please.
He's not for sale as such just recovering costs and ensuring he gets the right forever home. I am a dog trainer too so he's a puppy, but all the hard work as been done. Housetrained, travel, basic commands, touch while eating, can be left without problems. He's a perfect puppy for the right person.
I am looking for the very best forever home only: Experienced owner(s) with knowledge of high-drive sighthounds.
No small children (he’s bouncy and still learning boundaries)
Someone who will continue positive training, give him routine, exercise, mental stimulation, and lots of affection
Ideally a calm household where he can be the adored centre of attention
He deserves a home where he can keep shining. He’s already a gem – gentle, clean, smart, loyal, and full of joy. If you think you could give him the loving, structured life he’s thriving in now, please message me with a bit about yourself/your home/experience with similar breeds. Serious enquiries only – I will be very careful and ask questions/references.
I love him so much and want only the best for him.
