MARLEY – LABRADOR RETRIEVER AVAILABLE AT STUD ZETLANDGUN VICE VERSA OF SCRUFFSLIFE Marley is a lovely, slim, well-balanced and athletic black Labrador with good bone, a masculine head and a strong, capable build without being heavy. His fox-red lines really show through in his head and expression, with that distinctive strong brow and soft, handsome Labrador face that gives him a striking look. His dam is black with fox red behind her pedigree, while his sire is a dark fox-red Labrador, with both sides coming from Gundog lines. At around 27kg, Marley is lean, fit and powerful. He has strong legs and moves confidently through long grass, rough ground and cover with ease. He has a keen nose, enjoys retrieving and has plenty of natural drive, while still being responsive and easy to handle. Marley is first and foremost our much-loved family dog. He comes out with me regularly as part of my dog walking, training and behaviour work, so he is used to being around different dogs, people and environments. He is quick to learn, eager to please and thoroughly enjoys having a job to do. At home, he is calm, affectionate and easy-going. He mixes well with other dogs and has a gentle, welcoming nature around people and children, giving him a lovely balance between working ability and family temperament. Health tested BVA Hips: 5:6 – Total 11 BVA Elbows: 0/0 DNA: CLEAR for CNM, HNPK, prcd-PRA, EIC, MCD, SD2, STGD and Dilute. His official eye examination is booked for the end of October 2026. Marley’s health testing is very important to us, and any bitch considered for mating must at minimum be hip scored and appropriately DNA tested, so both dogs’ results can be checked for compatibility before mating. Good temperament and overall health are equally important. Puppies from a suitable mating with Marley may be eligible for Royal Kennel Club registration, provided the dam and mating also meet the Royal Kennel Club’s registration requirements. Stud fee As Marley has not yet sired a litter, his current introductory stud fee is £300. This includes two matings approximately 48 hours apart, where timing and the bitch are suitable. Once Marley is proven, his stud fee will increase to reflect his health testing, breeding qualities and proven fertility. Owners are very welcome to come and meet Marley before making any decision, view his health certificates and pedigree, and discuss whether he would be a suitable match for their bitch.
