this is maple, a 2 year old staffie x boxer. she is full of energy and love, she's looking to find her forever home with someone who can handle her.
it comes with the breed, maple is a high energy, high requirement dog. however, maple is also anxious and selective dog aggressive, which is why it's so important she finds a perfect, PERMANENT home.
we took maple in over a year ago, unexpected but with a warm welcome. maples history is unknown, but from everything we've learnt about maple, we know she wasn't raised how she should've been to prevent preventable behaviour.
maple is looking for a NO animal home, and a home without young children (16+). she needs someone who is available to walk her multiple times a day for a minimum of 30 minutes each walk, and someone who can play with her until she's content. someone who can provide enough enrichment that maple won't be bored, and so that maple won't be sad.
due to maples selective dog aggression, we need somebody who can understand a dogs body language. maple is very easy to read if you know dog body language, body stiff, tail wagging slowly, eyes focused on the prize. she needs an experienced dog owner, specifically someone experienced in owning larger dogs as she is very strong.
she needs short lead, controlled walks, and minimal dog interaction. maple is also selectively afraid of men, she needs a calm environment as she learns to trust you, and we're only doing home to home rehoming.
maple can be afraid of loud noises (fireworks, motorbikes, loud cars, unpredictable noises) and on walks, this can make her want to go home. we do not pressure maple to keep walking if she wants to go home!
we love maple so dearly, but she's unfortunately not fit for our home anymore as we have an elderly dog and another very anxious dog. we will be holding anyone interested in rehoming maple to the highest standard, she's such an important part of our family, and she deserves to go to a home who will love her just as much as we do.
maple will come with everything she loves, some raw food, her toys, her bed, her lead, her harness and an advent calendar, along with some treats she loves. she'll also come with a crate.
we want to take extra precaution when rehoming maple, so we are asking for a rehoming fee to know your sincerity in taking maple. we'd also like her to be registered with a vet and insured with you as her new owner.
maple knows some basic command and tricks, including:
sit
paw
touch
go find them (throwing treats, making her wait before making her find them)
leave it
let's go
wait (though she does get distracted)
maple is an absolute snuggle bug! she loves to cuddle and would lay with you for hours, she loves to give kisses and sit on your lap. every night she has a peanut butter ball (peanut butter smeared inside one of her spikey balls that she comes with!) and she loves her dried raw treats. she also loves going to enclosed fields (specifically 'grow walkies' in ardleigh) for an hour every week.
this won't be a one and done, we'd like to take this slow and steady. we'd like an introduction meeting first, maybe one or two, then let maple have a sleepover etc until she's ready to go to her new forever home.
this is the hardest decision we have ever had to make, loving her so dearly. it's not an easy task, but we'll do everything in our power to find maple the right home.
