18 month old male Rottweiler – looking for his perfect forever home This handsome, loyal boy is so soft and loving at heart – he loves nothing more than leaning on you, offering his paw for strokes, and soaking up all the reassurance you can give him. He already knows sit, give paw, and down, and is learning stay too – he waits so politely for his food, watching you calmly until you give him the signal he’s allowed to eat. He is crate trained and happy with free roam of the house; once walked, he settles beautifully and can be left happily for a few hours with no barking or fuss. He weighs 43kg, strong and healthy, but still has plenty of growing and learning to do. He does need an owner who understands his sensitivity and confidence gaps. If people approach him in a way that feels awkward, sudden or makes him feel trapped/scared, he will growl or bark to say he is uncomfortable – this is him asking for space, not being aggressive. He has never harmed anyone unprovoked, and only reacts when he feels unsure or pressured. He is sensitive along his back and hindquarters, but trusts his family completely – he will happily let me clip his claws and groom him there because he knows he is safe. He is generally fine with other dogs, but can be reactive to some when out on the lead – barking and pulling – and his recall still needs work off lead. There was one single incident where he was startled awake when knocked over, and reacted out of pure fright; he has lived peacefully with children, his brother dog and a tortoise with no other issues at all. I truly believe all his reactions come from lack of confidence, not bad nature. He would thrive best in a quiet, adult-only home – either a single person or couple – with experience of large breeds, who has the time, patience and knowledge to give him consistent training, build his trust and help him feel secure in the world. I am not taking rehoming him lightly at all – this is a very hard decision, and I will be checking every application carefully to make sure he gets the forever home he deserves. He is such a good boy, and I just want someone who will help him shine, build his confidence, and give him the happy, loved life he has earned. ❌ Please only enquire if you have experience of large/guardian breeds and the time to fully commit to his ongoing training and care – this is purely to make sure he gets exactly what he needs to be happy.
