💙 Looking for the right home for our adopted bulldog, Ralph 💙 This is a post we really didn't want to have to write, but ultimately we have to think about what is best for Ralph and for our other dogs. We adopted Ralph around 8 months ago and he is an incredibly lovable and affectionate dog with a huge personality. Unfortunately, more recently he has started pushing his luck and testing the boundaries within our home, which is beginning to cause our other dogs unnecessary stress. Anyone who has owned or spent time around bulldogs will probably understand what we mean when we say they can be incredibly stubborn! 😣 Ralph certainly knows his own mind, and lately that stubborn streak has become more difficult to manage in a multi-dog household. Because of this, we genuinely feel Ralph would be happier and better suited to a home where he is the only pet, allowing him to have the attention, structure and boundaries he needs without the pressure of living alongside other dogs. We also want to be completely open about Ralph. He is currently unneutered and he does have cherry eye, so anyone considering offering him a home needs to be aware of this from the outset. When we adopted Ralph, his previous owner was unfortunately quite vague about his history. We were told his documents had been misplaced during a house move and would be forwarded to us in the post, but sadly we never received them. Because of that, there are parts of Ralph's earlier history that we simply don't know. This isn't about wanting to "get rid" of Ralph. We love him and want to do what is right for him. We want to see him thrive and become the best version of himself, and we're beginning to accept that our home, with several other dogs, might not be the environment where he can do that. Ralph needs someone who ideally understands the bulldog breed, can give him plenty of love and attention, but can also provide firm and consistent boundaries. In the right environment, we genuinely believe he will make someone a fantastic companion. ❤️ The right home is far more important to us than finding a home quickly. We won't let Ralph go to just anybody. We'd want to speak properly with anyone interested, be completely transparent about him and make sure that both Ralph and his new owner are the right match for each other. If you think you could offer Ralph the loving, stable home he deserves, or know somebody experienced with bulldogs who may be suitable, please send us a private message. Please no judgement. This is already an incredibly difficult decision for us — we're simply trying to do what we believe is best for Ralph and all of our dogs. 🐾❤️
