Unfortunately we have to rehome our sweet boy Ivar. We adopted him as a puppy as his original owner had an unexpected litter whilst dealing with a family bereavement. We’ve held on to him as long as possible but due to his energy levels and size we feel he would benefit from an owner who could give him more time, exercise, and attention. We will be so sad to see him move on, and really want him to go to someone willing to send us some pictures/updates on how he’s doing as we have grown so attached to him.
He is tall, bouncy and energetic but so, so sweet. He loves nothing more than cuddles and attention. He needs a lot of exercise and would benefit from having an owner who drives so that he can go on long walks and adventures. He has always been great with our kids but we could picture him as the perfect best friend for a young, outdoorsy man or woman who could take him out for long hikes and beach walks.
He is house trained and crate trained, however we do monitor his water intake as he doesn’t know when to stop drinking 😂 which can then mean he drinks too much and struggles to hold it. This has been very rare, he is very clean and has never dirtied the house. He is comfortable being home alone for appropriate periods for work etc.
He is microchipped, and up to date with his vaccinations as he had a stay in kennels this summer whilst we went on holiday. He is upto date with flea and worm treatments. As a puppy he nibbled at the wall but after some training he has not been destructive in any way for a really long time.
He is bouncy on walks as we’ve had to do some training with him for thinking the lead was a toy, but once he gets going he’s fine. He has great recall off lead and comes back quickly. All he will need is a home with a garden, lots of love, and cuddles. He really would make someone the most loyal companion with a little time and attention.
We want to be really careful who we rehome him to and would want to meet a potential owner a couple of times to ensure they’re a perfect fit for him. We are happy to keep hold of him for as long as that takes and don’t want to give him up to just anyone. Because of this we are asking for a small fee of £150 which will be donated to the RSPCA to show his potential owner is serious about taking him on, and taking him on for the right reasons.
