Description
We have a beautiful charcoal female Labrador available for rehoming.
Nora is one year old and was bred by us. She went to a lovely family who have unfortunately experienced significant health problems, meaning they are no longer able to care for her. They have brought her back to us, her breeders, so that we can find the best possible home for her.
Nora is a kind soul who is eager to please and highly motivated. However, she is a very energetic dog and has not had enough opportunity to channel her intelligence and enthusiasm constructively, as she lacked training during puppyhood.
She does require further work on her recall and lead walking, and she can also jump up. We have worked hard on these habits and she has already shown great improvement, but this consistency will need to be continued in her next home.
We feel Nora would particularly benefit from a very active home with plenty of one to one attention. She would especially excel in a home where she has a job or hobby to focus on. She could be great at agility, canicross, or may even excel as a working dog. She is very motivated by both food and praise.
Nora is great with other dogs, particularly other young dogs, and will happily play all day. We do not have cats, and I suspect she may chase one, so she would only be suitable for a home where any cats are confident around dogs and able to move away from her if needed. Nora would suit a family with older children, but I do not think a home with very young children would be best, as she can be boisterous, energetic, and prone to jumping up.
We are asking a rehoming fee, as we want this to be a serious consideration for anyone interested, but the right home is far more important than anything else.
Nora comes with our guarantee that we will always take her back if her new home does not work out. As with any puppy we have bred, we would never allow her to end up in rescue kennels. She will always have a home here if she needs one, although we feel there may be a better fit out there for her.
We would like Nora to be spayed and can arrange for this to be done before she goes to her new home. However, ideally we would prefer her to be around 18 months old before she is spayed.
