Description

This is not a litter advert. We are looking for an experienced home for our beautifully bred 2.5 year old beagle. Having previously owned and coped with a beagle will be an advantage. A home where she is allowed to cuddle up on the sofa is a must, and expect counter surfing! Must have a fully secured back garden, and a secure way to open the front door without her escaping. She doesn't chew, although does like to steal the odd sock, and is mostly house trained but you will need to make sure she is empty especially at night. She is not off lead, but enjoys the long line, luckily she is very motivated by food for future training. At home she curls up and rests, does like to chase birds in the garden, she saves her enthusiasm for her 2nd favourite pass time which is walking. Considering her small size, she does pull to begin with so not ideal to let a child below the age of 15 lead her. I say this as my 14 year old would struggle at the start of the walk. She does calm down and has learnt to walk to heel but only when the first part of the walk is done, then she will look up for a treat. Her most favourite thing is food, she has a strict portion size to keep her trim, and small treats are for walking/training and bed time. She has been brought up with 2 children now 11 and 14, we have had many younger children visit and she is very gentle. She is good with all dogs out and about, she has a very submissive nature. We want her to be in a home where somebody is home most of the time, she has never been without another dog, so our preference would be, to be housed with another friendly dog, unless you can dedicate most of your time to her so she is part of your pack, rather than feeling alone. She is in great health, and has yearly check ups, she will be spayed before leaving. We are in no rush to find her the right loving home.
