Description
We took Blue on almost 2 years ago. Unfortunately, due to major life changes we can no longer offer Blue the home he deserves. So through no fault of his own and after heavy consideration, we have sadly decided to re-home Blue.
Blue is great with children, other dogs, car journeys are no problem, he has no food aggression, will play with a ball for as long as your arm will throw one, toilet trained, affectionate/loves a fuss & knows some basic commands.
He is genuinely a lovely boy & very gentle - you’ll see this to be true from the moment you meet him. Blue can be left home alone and is not destructive. He is not a counter surfer or bin diver either. However, just because he can be left alone, this doesn’t mean if you’re working full time away from home 5 days a week that he’s the right dog for you - like all dogs, they deserve regular interaction throughout the day. He just wants to be next to his humans on the sofa receiving fuss, he absolutely loves human attention. Blue would benefit from further lead training and will need his ears wiped regularly at home as they can get waxy & he has allergies (we have test results for what he is allergic to - so they can be avoided).
Blue is KC registered and he’s also had a number of health tests. He has excellent hips (3/3 score), perfect elbows (0/0 score), BVA eye scheme clear & is clear of the common Labrador hereditary diseases (namely CNM, HNPK, SD2, PRA & EIC).
Blue will not be given up to anyone. Please read the following first:
•Do not expect to be able to visit Blue once briefly and then take him home, like most other dogs advertised online. We’d like to see him with you at our home first, and then on a walk and then we’d like to see how he is with you in your own home. This can all be done in a single day if you’re not too far from away from us. Sorry if this seems like a lot, but it’s important to us he’s a good fit for you.
•He would suit a quiet household where he’s the only dog. This is preferred rather than essential, he currently lives with our other dog, but we genuinely believe he’d be happier a solo dog.
•He isn’t great on pavement walks, but is excellent in an open field. Having a nearby field to your home to walk him in is ideal.
•Have a genuine interest in investing time into building him into a more confident dog - he has a nervous disposition in public. Not in an aggressive manor, but a sensitive & nervous manner. We have worked on this and he is better than when we first had him, but it’ll require more time to get better.
•You are in position to financially support and have the available time to invest into a dog. Please consider the costs of insurance, vaccinations, food, flea/wormer, boarding when going on holiday and so on
•Finances aside, you also need to consider the time a dog needs; regular walks, frequent daily interaction, socialising and so on.
•You agree that if Blue is not for you, you will return him to us. He is never to be surrendered to a dog shelter under any circumstances. We will always take Blue back, no questions asked.
We’re located 5 minutes away from M42 J2 (Hopwood services).
