Joey is a lab x pointer who is a great all rounder dog! He unfortunately gets minimal interest because he is not an exciting colour or small and fluffy.
Joey loves to play with his toys, especially if they squeak, he loves spending time with his human friends and having some attention, he loves to sunbathe and loves his food!
Joey is good with other dogs but can sometimes put them off being his friend by being a bit bouncy and intense! He can similarly be bouncy when playing so would prefer to live with older children.
Joey hasn't had the opportunity for as much input as we'd like at the shelter, so he got a bit frustrated on his last walk and was circling on the lead a few times as he hadn't left the shelter in months prior. When he has the necessary input, he walks lovely on a lead and harness but may need his new adopters to re-open his world slowly and be up for helping get him into good habits as he has been at the shelter for coming up to four years :(
Joey is friendly with strangers and always happy to greet a new face.
Joey would get on well with adopters who enjoy doing some training and get a sense of achievement in helping a dog be the best version of themselves.
