Description
We are desperately looking for a temporary foster home for our lovely German Shepherd for the next 3 to 4 months so she can eventually come and live a happy life with us in Australia.
We have tried reaching out for support, but charities and rescue centres will not help us unless we surrender her for permanent rehoming—which is absolutely not what we want. We love her dearly and are determined to keep her. However, with our current situation and having to fund everything else right now, things are very stretched financially. Commercial kennels and dog boarding are just far too expensive, and we physically cannot afford their costs. We have truly exhausted all other options to try and bridge this gap.
She has a wonderful temperament. She spends all her time at home playing with our 2-year-old and other children, and she is incredibly patient and gentle with them. She just loves to be around the people in her home, is very chill during the day, and will happily just lounge around and sleep. She is fully house-trained, though she can wet herself just a tiny bit when she gets really excited! ☺️😂
Food-wise, she is easygoing—she is happy to eat normal dog food and also has a mixture of raw food. Most importantly, she absolutely loves to chase a ball—ball is her life!
We need someone who can be very patient because she can be very, very nervous and standoffish at first. However, once she knows you're safe, she will be your absolute best friend.
We just need someone who truly understands German Shepherds, has a lot of patience and understanding, and has a genuine love for the breed to look after her temporarily until she can make the move to join us.
If you love GSDs, understand nervous dogs, and can offer a safe, patient, temporary foster home for a few months, please get in touch.
