Description

Goose is a 2 year old spaniel. We believe he may be a cross, but we were told a full spaniel initially. He is a very loving dog who would happily cuddle on the sofa all day. He is great with people, and is friendly with dogs but can be anxious meeting them so needs guidance and training here. As with all spaniels, he has lots of energy and is excitable. He loves a walk and has enjoyed exploring forests and hills. We’ve found that he does settle outside cafes at our feet after a little while though, and this is improving with rewarding him for it. He is also very trainable, picking up commands quickly and understands ‘wait’ when crossing a road etc. He goes in his crate at night but we’ve had no issues with chewing or eating things around the house, so he may be okay outside it overnight if you’d prefer. He previously lived with a dog and enjoyed the company, especially when being left alone. Now when we leave he does bark initially but we see on our cameras that he settles on his bed eventually and is getting better each time. There’s good signs this would improve with time / training, but living with another dog would also help. We often walk past cats on walks and he does even look at them, but has never lived with one. He has previously lived with 2 young children with no issues. He doesn’t get mouthy or anything when playing with us, and is happy to be rolled around etc. He can be quite anxious, but this presents itself in looking to us for guidance and reassurance rather than anything negative. We really don’t want to part with him, but with changing jobs and therefore less time at home, it’s the fairest thing for him to be with a new loving family. He has recently been health checked by the vet, and flea and worm treated.
