Description

I have 2 male rats around 8 months old. A huge double furat cage with hammocks, Sputnik, wine rack, tie rack, stairs, ledges, tunnels, nets x 7. So much for the cage. Carrier also. Well over £150 worth of enrichment there. They are lovely boys called pika and chu. They belonged to my brother who has passed away and I took them in recently. Pika is lovely, will come out and sit with me and have strokes. Chu is a nervous boy who likes to stay in his cage, he runs away from me,I have to be honest so he gets the love he needs, he has nipped me twice but never enough to cause a wound. And only when I’ve got in his space. He loved my brother and would sit with him and run around his flat and I’m sure he is missing him which adds to the nerves. Over the last few weeks we have moved up to allowing small strokes on his terms. I get him out the cage by letting him climb into a box rather than getting in his space which is working. Both healthy boys, no respiratory issues which is common in rats. Both a good weight for their age and eat well. I have neither the space or time to give these boys the life they deserve. They would suit someone who has the time to earn the trust of Chu back who I know was a lovely social boy when he was with my brother. Pika is a snuggle bug who loves tickles between the eyes and under his chin. They go crazy for a mealworm and love cucumber and broccoli. I have some food depending on how long the rehoming takes and bedding. They get to on well have and have been together for 4 months, they chase each other and play. Pika is the home body he will be making nests and pulling apart bedding. While Chu likes to reep the Benefits and watch whilst enjoying a snack. I’m not after money for them or the cage, cage items or enrichment toys etc. I just want them to have the life my brother would have given them. I’ve added a small fee which I will donate to a diabetes charity in his name. This is to avoid time wasting and risk of them going to a bad home. Thanks so much for reading all that. I really do love these little guys. Open to any questions.
