Description

Rare snowshoe kittens born in Scotland. Snowshoes are born pure white and colour gradually from about 2 weeks old up to 2 years old. Their ancestors were a siamese and American Shorthair back in the 60s and they were given experimental status in the 70s then championship status in the 90s and became a recognised breed of cat. They are a small to medium shorthaired cat with coloured points, females weighing on average 8lbs and boys 11lbs and have the most piercing blue eyes. Their build is described as athletic with dainty paws and a lovely long tail and their nature is likened to a Golden Retriever dog although thankfully they rarely cast their hair, just once per year. I brush my cats once per week but only because they love it, not because they need it šŸ„° Snowshoes are unique in the entire cat world as they remain playful their entire life, not just as kittens, they love dogs, love being around kids, love every visitor that walks through the door and are so loving and friendly to everyone and shows with how confident and clever they are as they can be taught tricks like fetch and can easily open doors - I describe them as bomb-proof and they settle in to their new homes very quickly. I start litter training my kittens at 4 weeks old, usually when they are becoming curious and start leaving the whelping box they were born in. They usually have figured out how to use the litter trays by 5 weeks old. At this time they don't have full access to the house, just in the playpen, I then open up their playpen at around 7 weeks old and place litter trays in the corners of the room. Once they have mastered where they are I then give them access to more of the house till they eventually have access to the whole place. This litter have 3 seal points and 3 blue point kittens. I love snowshoes because they have a great temperament, they have the beautifullest chirp and like to talk to you but aren't loud like their siamese ancestors, they are more melodic and a pleasure to be around. As far as health goes they are a very healthy breed. Out of all my litters a lot of the owners come back for a 2nd kitten, that's how amazing they are ā¤ļø
